Legendary Benchmade® quality in a knife specific for US Coast Guard boat crews. The Coast Guard Rescue and Survival knife utilizes N680 Austrian steel developed for extremely harsh environments like salt water.  This steel provides the best corrosion resistance available while maintaining a sharp edge and ease of sharpening. With exception of the sharpened edges the blade is coated with Benchmade's proprietary BK1 coating in matt black for additional corrosion protection.

The knife features a blunt tip, opposing bevel for torsional strength and an integrated hook for cutting through straps, webbing and other pliable materials. Combination straight and serated blade edge will meet all your emergency cutting needs.  Rubberized overmolded handle ensures positive grip in wet environments.  Includes Boltaron® thermoformed sheath designed to fit all current knife pockets/pouches on existing US Coast Guard authorized PPE gear (Boat Crew Survival Vest, Waist Belt Equipment Pouch, etc.).
