- Hammar H20 Life Raft Hydrostatic Release (HRU)
Product Description
The Hammar H20 is a Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) designed to fit life rafts of all shapes and sizes. It provides safe, reliable operation under the extreme conditions of military and commercial marine operations. The Hammar H20 release unit consists of a looped white rope, a release mechanism and a red weak-link. The rope loop is secured to the deck or life raft cradle and opposite end attached to the life raft lashing with a slip hook. Should the vessel sink, within 4 meters depth water pressure will activate a sharp internal knife of the HRU which cuts the rope loop and releases the life raft to float free. An attached painter line (not included) will initiate inflation of the life raft and then breaks away at the weak-link
The glass fiber reinforced nylon construction prevents the Hammar H20 from corroding. No annual service, maintenance or spare parts required. Simply install a new one every two years and dispose of the old. The H20 enables easy, quick, trouble-free installation - reducing downtime ashore.
